Lakeside Community Theatre
Lakeside Community Theatre in The Colony,TX is a non-profit 501c3 corporation organized and dedicated exclusively for charitable, artistic and educational purposes. LCT exists to entertain and educate the community in the theatre and performing arts, while providing a place for local talent to shine. Lakeside Community Theatre aims to build a strong community identity by working together in a fun, wholesome environment. LCT is located in the Lakeside Arts Center on Main street in The Colony,TX.
Lakeside Arts Center
Lakeside Arts Foundation in The Colony TX, is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving our community through the arts.
Lakeside Arts Center, located at 6301-B Main Street (behind the Denton County building), is home to various community arts functions including community theatre productions, painting and drawing classes, children’s theatrical productions, and seasonal musical events.
The Lakeside Arts Center is overseen by the City of The Colony’s Cultural Arts Board, which meets the third Tuesday of every month at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall. Citizens can make comments and suggestions about the usage of the Lakeside Arts Center at the beginning of these meetings. For more info on the Arts Center contact Kate Margolis.
Lakeside Arts Center activities are funded through class fees, community donations, and ticket sales.
The Colony Cultural Arts Board
The purpose of The Colony TX Cultural Arts Board is to serve in an advisory capacity to the City Council on matters pertaining to the arts. This board has seven members who are appointed by the City Council. Members serve two-year terms. Monthly meetings are held at 7 p.m. on the third Tuesday of the month at City Hall or other locations as announced. The board may solicit for the city gifts, revenues, bequests, or endowments of money or property as donations or grants from persons, firms or corporations, subject to guidance, approval and acceptance by the City Council. Artists, writers, musicians, performers, or others interested in receiving grant funds should make a written request to the Cultural Arts Board.
