The Purple House in The Colony, Texas
A Colorful Tale of The Colony TX
The Colony Texas use to have a "Purple House" located at 4901 Main Street until 1975 or so. Legend has it that the purple house was the scene of quite a few eventful parties. Mr. Virgil, the owner, supposedly painted the home purple because this was the favorite color of Willie Nelson. This was before my time so all I hear are rumors of past fun.
An article was written about the purple house in the Colony Courier newspaper on July 29th 1998. The Purple House itself was interviewed by the newspaper and the article was written from the home's perspective. Click here to open a pdf of the purple house article.
